Avoiding the Color Fade

You know the dilemma. You just had your hair colored, but already it is fading. Certain color dyes, such as red, are more prone to fading than others and may require extra maintenance. Still, there are some steps you can take to help protect your investment.
The most obvious first step is to use professional, sulfate-free shampoo to wash your hair. Using sulfates can speed up the fading process, so choosing a product without them is important. While we're on the subject of shampoo, doing less of it will help save your color. If you can go without daily shampoos, your color will benefit. Using cooler water on your hair also helps avoid the fade, so turn down that shower temperature before getting your hair wet. When using heat to style your hair, a heat protecting product should be applied as well. Keeping your hair out of the sun and avoiding chlorine will also be helpful.
The bottom line is: there are lots of recommendations to help prevent your color from fading too fast, but we all will experience some level of fade, so we are here for you when you're ready to freshen things up a bit!
